Did you know higher IQ causes less perceived intelligence by observers?

Called the “clever sillies” phenomenon.

Some ways this plays out:

People with high intelligence have a high willingness to change their mind.

Intelligent people are more likely to update their beliefs when given new facts but observers mistake this for a lack of firm understanding (stupid).

Highly intelligent people are more willing to second guess themselves or remain quiet because they are deeply aware of what they do not know.

Observers mistake this as the person being uninformed then gravitate towards less-informed but more vocal individuals.

Not an exact comparison, but Rodri is a turbo-charged version of Matic in a lot of ways. Can't think of many others fitting that profile - Rice was shaping up, but has chosen to become a B2B for now.

If we find a midfielder of that type, I'd move heaven and earth to get him.

The biggest testament to his quality is the fact his legs completely fell off in late 2015, and he was still a vital starter in a PL-winning team the season after.

Chelsea gave Man City the shortest possible time to make a decision on Enzo Fernandez.

It's more or less telling them that we don't want to sell him.

My honest opinion is that Man City will find it difficult to do before 5pm tomorrow, but nothing is impossible.

If they don't, then the rumours will die off naturally and we can focus on our season.
