The first time I was fired my boss cried. We had a great run but there was new ownership and the writing was on the wall. I felt terrible for her and gave her a hug as I turned over my keys to the office. It was a really tough day for everyone.

Itβs the worst. I hate those conversations, even if I strongly dislike the person or theyβre clearly doing a bad job and costing me millions of dollars.
I almost always avoid the conversation for far too long.
The best way Iβve learned is to start by saying βlook this conversation is going to be uncomfortable, but Iβm letting you go today.β
Most people let the conversation meander and only get to the point 10-20 minutes in.
In my experience itβs better to just rip the bandaid off.
This is true for most any breakup!
US metro estimates of GDP for 2024 have been released.
You can see how absurdly rich the SF Bay Area is. SF + San Jose had a combined GDP lower than Chicago in 2012. Today, they're 35% bigger. We need to start thinking of SF, not Chicago, as America's third city.

@padigoodspeed So many buyers need to feel like they "won" something from the seller during negotiation. This is where builders can take advantage. When the buyers are receiving appliances, window treatments, money towards closing and more they often don't research further
