Just a reminder Ja Morant never been arrested nor charged with a crime and has been suspended twice for legal possession
Just so we’re clear of what to expect @NBA
I have annoyed thoughts about Memphis.
I hate the process. I hate alienating Ja the way they have, no matter how much Ja made the bed. I HATED trading Jaren regardless and especially without trading Ja too. I HATE the way it feels apparent to me how much they're centering everything on Edey, despite how great his impact metrics are.
But like... Ty Jerome is AWESOME. He may be even better than we thought based on small samples. Cedric is a BEAST. Wells found his shot late in the season. Javon shot 44% from 3, OMax 41% and I love his defensive upside. I'm excited about Hendricks and Clayton.
They'll add good picks and their FO is so good at finding value.
Memphis will be fun to watch next year if they don't tank. I'm annoyed by how good the talent pool is and how broken the culture seems. Iisalo has some really terrific principles but I question the team leadership and people management skills.
But Memphis IS talented. I just always think the harder part is everything else.
a lot of people fully blame ja for all that has transpired in this era when the truth is the organization has been insanely lackluster and also burned bridges with several players.
embarrassed dillon internationally saying he could return under “no” circumstances, traded desmond bane on fathers day, traded an injured steven adams after mishandling his injury and promising not to trade him, traded jaren with no prior notion, and now this coming out about ja… just saying. completely killed the chemistry of a tight unit.
An 11 year old boy was hit by a car, hospitalized fighting for his life and the family ran to Facebook for help.
Ja Morant single-handedly covered the whole fund raiser goal, reposted the posts, and now they’ve raised over $40k.
He did all this silently.
H/t @MemVsEverybody
Tennessee ranks #2 in the United States for rural hospital closures since 2005.
22 of Tennessee’s 95 counties have no hospital at all.
17 counties lack an emergency department.
More than half of rural hospitals in the state don’t have maternity services.
You’ve been representing our state the entire time. But yeah. Keep up the good work, Marsha.
This was not needed. To single out Ja like this and pin the failures of this era solely on him is not only invalid, it’s a straight up smear campaign. You’re better than this, Geoff. This isn’t journalism at all.
No other team in the NBA has more haters in their media room than the Memphis Grizzlies. Good lord what value does this add? Why would anybody want to play here when all of our beat reporters say stuff like this?
Another thought: The Grizzlies traded two players (Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson) who lived up to every expectation because a third player (Ja Morant) came up short. Morant's failures -- physical and otherwise -- are the primary reason the franchise has to start again.
I wish more people understood $4 coffees aren’t the problem.
It’s the:
- $650/mo car payment
- $300/mo credit card bill
- $1,800/mo daycare
- $800/mo student loans
- $2,400/mo rent
...This is why most six-figure earners feel broke.
Ja Morant’s answer when asked by @TheSteinLine on where he wants things to go from here
“Anybody who in here knows me knows I’m a very loyal guy. I have a logo on my back (Grizzlies tattoo) so that should say exactly what I want”
