@ottbrocj@csiscanada@scoopercooper@gary_srp@MarkJCarney Excuse me? It directly affected Canada as we rerouted all US-bound flights to our airports at our own peril on that very fkn day, not to mention the Canadians lost during the attack and the Canadian military’s involvement that came later.
Check yourself.
They serve as a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of the counter-terrorism work we do in support of Canadians, alongside our US neighbours and many others around the globe.
As Canada's security intelligence service, we know that the devastating terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, changed the world, tragically ended many lives, and affected thousands more.
@DavidBahry@brianlilley “CBC does not, itself, designate”
The US Govt circa 2001 onward did the designating so fkn dumbass CBC doesn’t have to. The execution of Bin Laden that Obama oversaw was for what, exactly?
This whitewashing of history is offensive. It’s like China denying Tiananmen Square.
@DavidBahry@brianlilley For fuck sakes – there’s a difference between speculating and long-established fact.
This does nothing but enrage people and make CBC look like Goebbels fellators.
CBC called the freedom convoy a terrorist attack, and now they're trying to say 9/11 was not a terrorist attack. Make it make sense. We live in times of idiocy and insanity.
What a horrible human being . As someone from these mountains: this was ice, rock and gravity tearing through Rasuwa and Trishuli. Not a TED Talk. Glacial collapses and debris flows have always been part of this landscape. Grieve the people first. Don’t turn their deaths into a climate advert. Just shut up .
Canadians used to carry defensive firearms in bear country. Our government took that away... and now people are dying.
A black bear mauled a couple to death at their remote cabin at McTavish Lake. Another killed a uranium exploration worker at Norbye Lake. In Nipigon, Ontario a bear came right into a couple's home and attacked them inside.
Attacks are up across Canada, black bears and grizzlies both, while park and backcountry traffic has fallen since Covid. So spare me the sermons about human encroachment.
Read Trish Wood's article. She explains what these animals do when they attack...
"Bears do go for the face and jaw - even with each other because the wounds can be so disabling. A jawless brown bear can’t do much damage to an aggressive challenger. They approach human invaders with the same tactical moves as they do other bears. Head, face, neck."
A predator with the instinct to take your jaw first - and Ottawa says your answer is a can of pepper spray at arm's length.
Empty cans of bear spray at a fatal attack. That is what forced disarmament looks like on dangerous ground.
My grandfather never went into the bush without his Model 94 Winchester in .30-30. My father kept his .308 carbine close. I carried a Smith & Wesson .357... legal only because my badge was in my pocket.
Our masters in Ottawa decided ordinary Canadians can't be trusted with the defensive tools every generation before us carried.
Canadians who could have defended themselves are dying because they have been disarmed.
Excellent, in depth article by @WoodReporting. Well worth your time...
The Lindsay Clancy murder trial ended today after 21 days of testimony.
Reminder that my witch trial, for stating that men are not women, was longer than this, at 22 days.
Woo.
@brianlilley@sunlorrie When Obama went on TV to inform the world Bin Laden was executed, what was that for, exactly?
Is CBC taking pointers from the Beijing School of Journalism?
What a fkn insult.
The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.
What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 🦋
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. 💖 @dollyparton
I was definitely “changed by her work.”
She persecuted me for standing up for reality. She tried to force me to stop using accurate, sex-based language while she cross examined me. (She failed, and I continued to refer to males as males in my hearings.) She tried to ruin my life because I spoke up to defend women and children.
I’m sorry for her loved ones, anyways.
@neco_arctic Something that doesnt work properly is defective. Its not a value judgement on a person. Its a simple statement of fact.
It takes a special kind of narcissism to think she meant you, personally, are defective. Actually, it comes across as performative outrage.
