I’ve lived both side simultaneously. Son aged out of competition summer after freshmen year in HS. Fast, good outfielder, great arm. Couldn’t hit. His time on offense was over. He knew it. On the other side, he kept striking out hitters and getting outs. Progressed as a PO and is excelling in D3. Needed that travel ball experience to know what played and what didn’t. Baseball just helped unlock a summer internship. It’s still paying off.
Play as long as you can and never regret it. Wherever your journey ends, it has a positive impact in some meaningful way.
Cubs fans would respect Sox fans more if they supported their team even when they suck. They don’t. And neither do Cardinals fans. That’s why both fanbases hate the Cubs and their fans.
Ironically, Bears fans are much more like Cubs fans in that regard and they are full of Sox fans. I wonder why they don’t treat their fandom equally?
Everyone thinking that Bishop Barron in this clip is referencing the modern state of Israel is not listening carefully. For Catholics, the Old Testament is fulfilled in Christ and the story continues in the new Israel which is not a people of blood and heredity but Christ’s bride, the Church itself.
