I'm not like most people who run for Governor. I'm a single mom of three kids who fills the gas tank and pushes the grocery cart just like almost everybody else in our state.
To make life more affordable in California for those of us who aren't billionaires or bankrolled by big industry PACs, it's going to take standing up to Donald Trump, calling out greedy corporations, and stepping on some toes along the way.
Amen. It’s absolutely disgusting for a president to investigate his political opponents (something that has never been done before, by the way). This sets a horrible precedent that I fear could boomerang back at the party ordering these investigations.
@dsonoiki The same people that regularly called Trump 'Hitler/Mussolini/Stalin' are upset that a UFC fighter called Michelle Obama a 'man'.
Series of books could be written why the anti-Trump statement is far worse than the anti-Obama statement.
Unfortunately, I am not a good writer.
@Noahpinion The problem is that is not what Vance or Trump say it means.
Honestly, you're all posting "I know what it means!" with no one actually knowing what is written down.
The confusion means this deal falls apart in 2 weeks & the US uses it as a tool to ID who in Iran is in command.
@GovPritzker You - uh - dropped some ketchup on the reporting; specifically the area where it was identified that it was a local investigation started under the Biden administration...
Dana Williamson, Governor Newsom's former chief of staff, plead guilty to three felonies in May.
1: Bank/Wire Fraud
2: False tax returns
3: False statements to federal agents
The investigation actually began under the Biden administration.
Max penalty 30 years.
@BernieSanders Maybe if they limited their grift to shitty paintings covered with cocaine you'd be OK with it.
It sucks for you that you're so short-sighted.
B-52H Crash at Edwards AFB.
8 souls.
This was a B-52H Stratofortress assigned to the 412th Test Wing, and multiple reports indicate it was one of the Air Force’s dedicated test aircraft involved in the Radar Modernization Program (RMP) flight test effort.
The aircraft was carrying a mixed crew of military personnel, government civilians, and contractors on a radar test mission when it crashed shortly after takeoff.
From a test pilot perspective, the crew size is notable. A normal operational B-52H crew is five, but there were eight personnel aboard, which strongly suggests this was a developmental test sortie with additional flight-test engineers, contractors, or instrumentation specialists riding along.
A very tragic day for the test community. Edwards, TPS, Boeing, and the bomber folks are a very small world. Eight souls lost on what should have been a “routine developmental flight”.
But nothing is routine in military and test aviation.
God bless their souls and families.
The @NoFallenHeroes Foundation is standing by to support the families.
@SuziNFH
@JonBramnick What if the fighter had called Barack Obama "Hitler"? Would that have been acceptable?
Take your double-standards, turn them sideways, and shove them up your ruddy-poo candy ass.
No one has said he shouldn't have existed, dipshit.
He shouldn't have committed two felonies and then resisted arrest.
It was perfectly legal for him to stand there and wave a sign while armed. Gravestone manufacturers got a sale because that is not what he did.
@HomelandDems Crazy how the comments *by Republicans* are “he shouldn’t have existed while having a firearm on him.” Pretti didn’t pull a gun on cops; he was beaten up by multiple thugs and *while unarmed on the ground* was shot repeatedly. Republicans are hypocrites.
@HomelandDems Are you implying that Democrats think it is acceptable to commit two felonies against law enforcement and then resist arrest, all while armed?
Class A mishaps are terribly over-reported due to the low floor and the expense of modern aircraft.
There should be a sliding scale relative to cost of purchasing new rather than 1 value for the whole force. Losing a B-2 and a Cessna 208 shouldn't have the same report status.
Folks, while the recent military crashes are stunning & tragic, there is no conspiracy here.
The military categorizes “Mishaps” by amount of damage. A “Class A” mishap is the most severe, and crashes fall into that category. On average, there are 30-45 “Class A” mishaps a year.
It’s true that the rate of Class A mishaps has increased in recent years. Remember though that a Class A mishap doesn’t necessarily mean a crash; it can mean something got broken & it costs a lot to fix (I *think* the floor for becoming a Class A is $2.5M).
The rate of Class A mishaps was 1.3 per 100,000 flight hours in 2020. That rose to 2.02 by 2024, a 55% jump. While that is reason for concern, it’s not exactly apocalyptic, and the very next year, 2025, saw a decline in that rate, led by the Air Force, who had their lowest mishap rate in a decade.
Military aircraft are often much more complex than civilian jets, and they are flying them in ways civilians don’t. While the Air Force changed their pilot training a while back (shortening it), I don’t necessarily think that’s the problem.
Budgets & increased operations tempo are probably players, but I’d have to do a deep dive. These crashes don’t appear to have any connection to each other…it’s coincidence.
A tragic coincidence, but nevertheless a coincidence.
My office is demanding the Trump Administration release any and all records on the Trump DOJ’s politically motivated, baseless fishing expedition.
The American people deserve to know who ordered this abuse of power and how far it goes.
