Congrats to @CoachBMiller44 who was recently named the head coach and @FerrisMBBALL! Brooks was on Coach Knight's staff at @TexasTechMBB and his message about education is spot on.
I am thankful to have been blessed with many incredible mentors throughout my basketball journey. Here is a clip of some of what I learned from when I was a graduate assistant for the great Bob Knight and his son Pat! @BobKnightLegacy#shotfakenation
Another side of Coach Knight you’ll never hear about. He and my uncle Hank were close friends for decades. Whenever he was in the area to visit his mom, Hazel, he would stop by to see my uncle. I’d always get advance notice, and was there a number of times. When he was in failing health, I got word to Coach Knight through his secretary. 3 days later, he drove 5 hours to my hometown, visited with my uncle, and then drove 5 hours back to Bloomington. On the same day. Here is a picture of them the day they both got inducted together into our inaugural class of the Wayne County Sports HOF in 1976. I got to sit at their table the entire evening. When his historic undefeated Hoosier team played in Columbus earlier that year, we sat 1 row behind the Indiana bench. Never forget that either. Two great men.

A side of Coach Knight you rarely saw reported. Which was by his own design. His mom was a school teacher. He was an avid, lifelong reader. There has never been a college sport coach who put more emphasis on his players getting a degree. He donated yearly to the Orrville Public Library. Also the Boys Club, and YMCA. Was over at his high school alma mater today, and saw this:
He also donated $100,000 for new bleachers in the gymnasium.

Indiana’s 1976 undefeated national championship team is all together again to be honored at tonight’s national title game in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Pat Knight is here to represent Bob Knight.
On this day in 1985, Bobby threw the chair against Purdue. We've dropped a new 90's style officially licensed caricature of Bob Knight to commemorate! #TheGeneral#BobbyKnight@BobKnightLegacy
