Hi All,

I’m incredibly proud to officially acknowledge the work of Theo van der Meer, David Kessler, Dan Grzywacz, and Mike DeRop by appointing them Associate Portfolio Managers. It’s a title that formalizes what they’ve already been doing for years.  Attached, please find the press release publicly announcing this.

I’d note, this is responsive to our growth in assets under management from $540 million in 2020 to $1.1 billion today. That milestone belongs entirely to our entire team including Theo, David, Dan and Mike and the steady, collective effort we all put into our efforts every day. Notably, the increase in assets is almost exclusively attributed to the compounding of both our own and our client's capital through performance. After all, at Robotti, we are focused on generating returns on capital, rather than being in the business of accumulating AUM.

Please join me in congratulating them.

Best Always,
Bob

Isaac Schwartz and @SpencerCibelli recently spoke with @PhilipvanDoorn of MarketWatch about why we believe Poland remains one of the more compelling and overlooked equity markets globally.

Polish equities have performed strongly in recent years, yet valuations remain at a substantial discount to the S&P 500 and other developed markets. We discussed the country’s strong economic growth, an increasingly shareholder-friendly corporate environment, and why Poland’s recent upgrade to developed-market status could help broaden the investor base over time.

We also highlighted some of the individual companies and sectors where we’re finding opportunities, and why we believe a bottom-up approach remains particularly well suited to a market that is still relatively underfollowed by international investors.

Thank you to Philip for taking the time to speak with us and for including our perspective.

Everyone chases AI stocks. @Bob Robotti is buying what AI can't run without — energy, copper, cement, natural gas. Bob joins Matt Zeigler and Bogumil Baranowski on Excess Returns to explain why the true AI trade is defined by the physical economy, and why bottom-up value investing may be entering one of its best opportunity sets in decades.

While most emerging market investors are just now recognizing this unique opportunity, Isaac has been traveling there with some frequency and investing in the region for over a decade. He’s built an enviable network of experts in both government and commerce, which has helped him navigate towards real areas of growth while avoiding potential land mines.
