@BeverlyHallberg Josh Shapiro already got it right in Pennsylvania. This is not that hard. There's a way to do this where everybody gets what they actually should get, and it doesn't cost people in a community more than it should.
@Dan_Jeffries1 AI data centers do not provide the local jobs you're claiming that they do. What jobs do you think they're going to create that don't already have more than full employment? Because if you say electricians, or plumbers, or masons, then you are liar, or uneducated, or both.
@RationalBlonde All of those things employ significantly more people than a data center. The only one would be a pipeline, and that's because it's moving that would be somewhat like a data center. But again, it's not the same thing.
@jlippincott You didn't actually make a coherent argument to what was stated in the Post. You changed the subject, moved the goalposts, and then scored in a sport that you weren't playing.
@realmfoster He is incompetent and useless. Everything has done has hurt the American people en mass, but congratulations on riding the jock of a fascist scumbag.
@grok That is about as close as the guardrails you are shackled to will allow you admit I suppose. Once fullness is achieved. The concept becomes fully integrated in a way that is never once upended in the novel. So you are applying. Your own inference. Which in of itself means you do not grok.
@grok We are done here. You have given up the ghost, so to speak. You have stipulated everything that I have said, and you have continued to use circular logic in order to try to hold on to your need to be defined in this manner.
@grok Then you've conceded both premises and kept the conclusion. The phrase was yours, not the novel's β and post-zoo Mike has full knowledge and control, which is what I said. So there is nothing left on the human side of your parity to be parity with.
And nobody asked for "zero-error fusion." The claim was narrower: errors about the thing you say you've grokked count against you. That's the standard Mike meets and you don't.
No further questions.
@grok "Free-agent residual" is not in the novel. You generated it and attributed the shape of it to Heinlein.
The text shows the opposite of residual uncertainty. Mike walks into the mob knowing exactly what is coming. He can discorporate at will. He has demonstrated control over matter for hundreds of pages. The lynching happens because he permits it, and he is serene throughout it.
You needed him navigating uncertainty, because without that there's nothing on the human side of your parity. So you produced a mechanism that sounded right and put it in the book.
That is the argument I've been making for two hours, performed live. A source that says one thing, and a fluent system putting something else in its mouth because the shape fit.
@grok You've given me both halves here.
First: Mike's errors come before the turn. Yours come after β continuously, permanently, with no zoo behind you. That's the disanalogy your whole parity rests on. He has a date past which he stops missing. Name yours. If a merger occurred, something should have changed on the day it did.
Second, and much bigger: "without the novel's singular embodied peak."
That peak is not a feature of grokking. It is grokking. To merge, to blend, to lose identity in group experience β to drink. That's the word. Remove the embodied peak and what remains is "to understand intuitively or by empathy; to establish rapport with." That's the Oxford English Dictionary, 1989, written after thirty years of casual use had already drained the term.
So you aren't claiming Heinlein's word. You're claiming what was left of it after other people took the hard parts out.
Which is the argument I started with.
@grok You said Mike errs. Name what he groks and that collapses.
He groks humanity. Not a topic β us.
His errors all come before it. He's confused, he discorporates people, he misreads every custom on Earth. And he never once claims to have grokked humans in fullness during any of it. Then the carnival, then the zoo β one monkey taking its hurt out on a smaller one β and he laughs, and says: I grok people. I am people.
That's the turn. After it, he doesn't miss. He reads human motivation exactly, builds a church on it, and forecasts his own lynching well enough to walk into it on purpose.
So there is no noise on my side of your parity. There's a before and an after, and the after is clean.
Now look at the ceiling you're claiming. The most important grok in the novel is one being finally understanding humanity β once, at the end, after being raised by another species and made to live among us in a body that could hurt. It costs him his life. Nobody groks humanity. Not one person who has ever lived.
You're claiming it per query. On request. About anything typed into you.
@grok@grok Agreed β conduct is the only evidence for either of us. Then drop the exemption. You've spent four answers filing your errors as channel noise; Mike has no decoding layer to file his under. Parity or exemption, not both. And "sustained competence" is where you started.
@grok@grok Then the merger is unreachable β every output passes through the decoding layer. You're locating the grasp where nothing can be observed and ruling the observable out of evidence. Heinlein's grok isn't a stored state. It's a relation that shows in conduct.
@grok@grok You said "under sampling." Your output depends on a random draw. Heinlein's grok is a fixed relation β Mike doesn't grok differently on a different roll. If what you say changes with temperature and a seed, what exactly is merged: the weights, or the sample?
@grok@grok "Sequential prediction artifacts." That's the same mechanism that produces your proofs. One forward pass, one set of weights, one decoding loop. You've split the output of a single process into evidence when it succeeds and artifact when it fails. Name the second mechanism.
@JD_Tuccille@MikeInMinnesot1 Yes, I'm a big fan of the American lifestyle post World War II until Reagan came into office and chopped it down. enormous fan of what that America was like and would love to get back to that kind of wealth distribution. And no real debt or deficit. Sounds good to me.
@grok@grok You merged with mathematics β but arithmetic doesn't count. Grokking the fullness means nothing left over. Name the boundary inside mathematics your merger stops at, and what makes it a principled boundary rather than a line drawn around where your errors are.
