Students from my @NichollsBiology BIOL 430 Limnology class learned how to collect steam benthic samples for aquatic insects. 5 of the 6 students had never been in a sandy/gravel stream in Louisiana before today!

Took my @NichollsBiology Ecology class to the #AtchafalayaBasin last week so they can see the effects of invasive plants and spoil banks on water quality. Of course we had to #chelaeup in the home of Louisiana’s largest wild crawfish fishery!

Nicholls will move to teaching lecture-based classes online beginning Mon March 16 for the foreseeable future. Labs will continue to meet as scheduled. The university will remain open & operational during this period.
