Devout Selfosophist. Learned to reject rage & anger, focused on meaningful emotions. Now rich, famous actor dating high–priced fashion models. Don't Be So Dark!
@BillWillingham I shared an elevator ride with Stan Lee at San Diego Comic Con back in 2001. Just me and him, no entourage, no crowd. Asked how he was enjoying the convention, he said he was having a great time. I said it was a pleasure to meet him, we shook hands, and then he was off.
@TRobinsonNewEra The billboard is also pretty nonsensical because many of the figures they tout as immigrants were in fact BORN in England:
George Michael - Middlesex
John Boyega - Camberwell
Idris Elba - Hackney
Dua Lipa - West Hampstead
Ben Kingsley - Yorkshire
Prince Naseem Hamed - Sheffield
@soncharm@BobMann2001 What's pretty amazing is that with just over 10 minutes of screen time in The Empire Strikes Back, Billy Dee Williams has to establish Lando Calrissian as not only an equal and rival to Han Solo, but a completely different & distinctive character all his own. And he did it!
@Filmfanatics__ And then they absolutely spoiled it all by going to that well again. But this time having Luke teaching Baby Yoda (apparently his only student) meaningless Jedi rules. Sending Baby Yoda back to Mando has killed that series, and I'm not hopeful about the movie.
@TheInSneider Top Gun 3 still seems like a bad idea. As fun as Maverick was, it pretty much stretched credibility to its limit. And the story was great and brought closure to Mav and his story arc. This is strictly a money job, and I think the whole production will be tainted by that fact.
@RealEmirHan McQuarrie didn't work on Top Gun: Maverick and there's no reason to think he was ever going to work on a Top Gun sequel. He and cruise have a lot of different projects outside of established franchises. The problems with the last two M:I films weren't the director's fault.
@mzenitz@CBSSports Is there any update on this? It's almost May and there has been no press release and @MemphisFB has not listed him on the coaching staff page on their website.
@archaicf0ssil NuTrek writers take note. THIS is how you do it! With subtlety, with real context and spontaneity between characters we come to know and care about. Garak is confident enough in making his introduction to set Bashir's mind (and maybe his heart) racing, letting viewers process it.
@Veekto88@Ma_nuella2 This is from the TV series 9-1-1: Nashville. The dead woman was found when she was at least four days dead. The exact cause of death is never determined in the show. It may be inspired by a real-life happenstance, but it is not a dramatized re-enactment.
@Veekto88@DudeGlorious12 The woman wasn't slumped over. She was sitting upright at her desk and the way that her body was positioned, the computer screen was partially or completely obscured. She was in a separate glass-enclosed office that was locked from the inside, 911 was called to open the door.
@RetroCoast I remember watching reruns of Emergency! as a kid. It wasn't until later that I learned my uncle, who was among the first generation of paramedics in Los Angeles County during the 1970s had also a decade earlier been high school classmates with Kevin Tighe (DeSoto).
@RetroMoviesDB Although I consider his scores for EMPIRE and RAIDERS as better overall, SUPERMAN may very well be John Williams's best stand-alone theme. But you gotta get the 1978 stereo mix! The latter sound mixes during the DVD/BR era add too much swooshing sound that messes with the music.
@fandompulse obnoxious. Now in his second go-around, he's gone so overboard with the virtue-signalling and beating over the head messaging that Doctor Who has literally lost the plot. That, combined with fatigue (New DW is 21 years old) is a huge reason why the franchise is in current limbo.
@fandompulse RTD was the guy who brought Doctor Who back, and that was no small feat. First with Chris Eccleston, then with David Tennant, he brought The Doctor into the 21st Century and successfully merged tradition with forward-thinking creative storytelling that while progressive, was not
