@FightMA247 Two choices: follow BU and NE’rn and drop football, or FCS. I’m tired of the argument we can’t go back to where we belong. In the business world you follow the data. The data is overwhelming , we should be a FCS school.
I love UMass football, NOT a hater. Let’s go home!
@MatthewParent1@epeemike81 And if you’re suggesting UConn has a better fan base, I’d argue it’s because they are the state’s pro team with zero competition at the collegiate level, or pro. UMass has to compete with arguably the best pro sports in the country and other top tier collegiate teams.
@MatthewParent1@epeemike81 what do you mean by perception? Uconn is a better school? I have a HS sr in the midst of a national college search. We’ve employed a “college coach”. There’s no suggestion that UMass is perceived as second rate. Particularly not to UConn. She’s accepted at UConn, WL UMass
@MatthewParent1@epeemike81 Sorry, but to be days of Umass being a backup, or safety school are long gone. Look at the rankings. Look at grades, GPAs, and test score trends of applicants. Most Universities would kill for this quality. UConn has nothing over UMass other than a better basketball team.
@FightMass I’ve watched a lot of basketball over the last few days. These tournament teams are so much better than us. Feel we’re so far away from being competitive. Very disappointing.
