India was having edge over Pakistan in air to air battle until pakis Got AIM 120 back in the Day. To counter that we ordered rafale with tatas. Post regime change a new deal came in. Overall lot of time was lost. Plus as per what I heard -rafales were not even integrated with meteors at may 2025, plus we underestimated PL 15 range.
