Amid all the critical revelations from @ElonMusk and his @DOGE team, one key issue has been largely overlooked—the real scandal within the scandal. The question is not just whether it should be asked, but why it hasn’t been: Where were all the GOP senators and GOP representatives over the past four years? These are lawmakers who, within their congressional rights and duties, should have uncovered—or even been obligated to uncover—everything that is coming to light now. Granted, not all of them were responsible as many focus on defense, intelligence, the military, or other areas. But those who were in charge of fiscal oversight, domestic policies, development aid, and particularly USAID should have seen this.

As we now know, many of them had conflicts of interest, with figures like Lindsey Graham allegedly benefiting from USAID funds—at least indirectly—by millions, as was revealed today. The question is, what did these @GOP representatives and senators actually do? Did they know and deliberately look the other way, which would not only be disgraceful but potentially criminal? Or were they simply negligent, failing to do their job and remaining unaware of it all? That may not be illegal, but it would still be an embarrassing display of incompetence.

Either they knew and stayed silent—perhaps because they were benefiting financially from USAID or for other reasons—or they had no idea because they were asleep at the wheel. And that’s the real scandal within the scandal: It took the richest man in the world to expose all of this. The CEO of companies like @Tesla, @SpaceX, and @X, with just a small team of consultants and software engineers, accomplished in a matter of days what the congressional GOP opposition failed to do in four years. He uncovered what they should have long ago.

So now the GOP opposition must answer: Where have you been for the last four years? How was it possible for the Biden-Harris administration to divert billions—over time, even trillions—into secret slush funds, bribes, and black-budget accounts? How did they manage to funnel U.S. taxpayer dollars into foreign state media like the BBC or foreign-owned U.S. outlets like Politico without congressional oversight? Where was this during the 2024 election campaign, when it should have come to light?

The key question now is how much of an impact these revelations would have had on the election. If the American people had known that Politico was essentially bought by the Biden-Harris administration, or that foreign outlets like the BBC were receiving funds from the U.S. government, would the election have played out differently? This is likely just the tip of the iceberg. How much of the media bias in favor of Biden and against Trump was influenced by government-backed funding?

Had this information been exposed earlier, it could have stripped these propaganda outlets of their credibility and created a level playing field in the media. Instead, the GOP opposition failed to act. Hundreds of GOP representatives and senators have clearly failed in their duty. If they had done their jobs, all of this would have come to light long ago. Instead, it took Elon Musk to uncover it, exposing not just the corruption of the Biden administration, but also the incompetence—or complicity—of the GOP establishment.
