🚨 Another day another attack on resident doctor 🚨

Dr Shahnawaz, a 3rd year PG in Medicine at GMC Srinagar, was allegedly assaulted by a patient's attendant in the emergency ward of SMHS Hospital.
The CCTV footage shows the doctor being slapped while on duty.

He wasn’t taking a break. He wasn’t unavailable. He was just doing his job, trying to save patient lives.

These resident doctors work 36 hour shifts with no rest, no food, and constant stress. Yet they show up every day in overcrowded emergency rooms, with understaffed teams and endless patient load. And this is the thanks they get?

Yes we need to evolve into a society where we ALL feel equally safe. But that is going to take decades. It’s going to hopefully happen with sensitizing and empowering our sons and daughters. The next generations will be better. We will get there. Eventually. But what in the interim ? Right now justice would be to put a hard stop to such atrocities. And the only way to do that is a punishment so harsh that it scares the living daylights out of such perpetrators. That’s what we need. Perhaps ?
