William has been represented with green, pink, orange, yellow, and blue in different contexts, but purple is the color most associated with him. Which is why it matters so much.

You’re just assuming the Mimic can change its eyes to purple simply because it’s changed them to blue and green before. You keep making the assumption that “if the Mimic can change its eyes to blue and green, then it must be able to change them to every color.” That doesn’t logically work without it actually showing it can do that.
