މިދިޔަ ފަސް އަހަރުގެ ތެރޭގައި، މާލޭގެ މަގުތަކުން ތަކުބީރުގެ އަޑު ކެނޑިގެންދިޔަ ފުރަތަމަ އީދަކީ މިއީއެވެ. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު @MMuizzu މާލޭ ސިޓީގެ މޭޔަރުކަމުގެ މަޤާމުގައި ހުންނެވިއިރު، މުޅި ގްރޭޓަރ މާލެ ސަރަޙައްދުގެ އެކި ހިސާބުތަކުން ތަކުބީރުގެ މާތް އަޑު ގުގުމަމުންދިޔައެވެ. އަދި ޕީ.އެން.ސީ ކައުންސިލުން މެދުނުކެނޑި އެ އާދަ ހިފަހައްޓަމުން ގެންދިޔައެވެ.

އެހެންނަމަވެސް، މިއަދު ފެންނަމުންދަނީ މުޅިން ތަފާތު މަންޒަރެކެވެ. މާލެއިން އެ އަޑު ކެނޑި، މުޅި މާޙައުލު ބަދަލުވެފައިވާކަން ފާހަގަކުރެވެއެވެ. މިއީ އެމް.ޑީ.ޕީ އަށް ކިރިޔާވެސް ބާރެއް ލިބުމުން ކަންކަން ބަދަލުވެގެންދާ ގޮތެވެ.

Malsha is mildly right, addu or kulhudhoofushi belongs to every maldivian. In the sense that the country belongs to the nations people.

But

Hulhumale was reclaimed for the purpose of providing much needed housing for Malé people.

Tax money is everyone's and there is no debate.

But

Tax is also used to develop other areas inthe maldives and reclaim other islands too.

Hulhumalé should return to the purpose for its origin plan, and that is to provid housing for people who migrated and is living their whole life in Malé only.

ކުއްޔަދޭ މީހުން ކުއްޔަށް ދެނީ ވަކި މާލެ ނޫނީ އެހެން ތަނެއްގެ މީހަކަށް ވީމަކާއެއް ނޫނެވެ. ހިޔާ ފުލެޓުގެ 80ޕަސަންޓު އެހެރީ ކުއްޔަށް ދީފައެވެ. އެތަނުން ގައިމުވެސް ގިނައިން ފުލެޓު ލިބުނީ މާލެ ބަޔަކަށް ނޫނެވެ. މީގައި އަދި ހެއްވާކަމަކީ އެތަންވެސް ކުއްޔަށް ދީފައި ހަމަ އެމީހުން ސަރުކާރަށް ދައްކަން ޖެހޭ ފީ ވެސް ނުދައްކާ ބަހަނާ ދެއްކުމެވެ. އެކަމަކު ނަންވަނީ މާލެ މީހާއެވެ.

So this is not about denying anyone’s rights. It’s about acknowledging that Malé born citizens carry a unique burden and deserve the land and housing meant to solve.

2.We don’t have another island to run to during crises, no ‘back-home island’ to fall back on, no spare land waiting for us somewhere else.

Meanwhile, a huge part of Malé’s population comes from other islands that still exist as their ancestral homes. They have options. We don’t

1. Rights don’t disappear just because someone migrated. Every Maldivian citizen has the legal right to live anywhere in the country. But let’s be honest — equality must also recognise reality. Malé is the ONLY home for Malé-born families.
