I just want to say for all our Japanese friends out there that we do not condone this at all, and completely encourage you to smash his hands with hammers.
To: @RepDonBacon The attachment included in this comment is an example of the type of response we have grown to expect from Members of Congress.
It begins with, “You guys are a joke.” This is a sentiment common among Members of Congress but unique to survivors of the attack on the #USSLiberty. I think no one has ever addressed any other representative of a US military unit in such a crude and disrespectful manner.
Translation: “You guys expect ME to show some concern that you are victims of @IDF war crimes committed during the attack on your ship?”
It continues, “This has been studied thoroughly…”
This is a bald-faced lie. The attack on our ship has NEVER been investigated by the US government.
“Israel apologized for mistaking the nationality of the ship”
On what planet do you accept without question the claim of someone who has attacked a @USNavy ship, let alone someone who has committed War Crimes during the attack on our ship, while not only ignoring the survivors of the attack but refusing to enter a dialogue with us?
“paid the families” When have we ever mentioned money? This has never been about money. For anyone but Israel partisans, that is.
However, as you mentioned money, in 1980, it is alleged that Israel paid $6,000,000 for the ship’s damage. $6,000,000 for destroying a $40,000,000 ship that in 1980 and accounting for inflation would cost over $106,000,000 to replace.
“You guys hate Israel” We ask that the attack on our ship is thoroughly and professionally investigated and findings determined by an analysis of all the evidence available. How can anyone claim that this is tantamount to “hating Israel”?
Finally, the claim is that we “are on wrong (sic) side in the fight against anti-Semitism.”
The reason the attack is being discussed almost 59 years later is the failure of your predecessors in Congress to investigate the attack.
What side “in the fight against anti-Semitism” were they on?
The reason the attack is being discussed almost 59 years later is the refusal of you and your colleagues in Congress to investigate it.
What side “in the fight against anti-Semitism” are you on?
Twice we reported to our superiors that we were victims of War Crimes during the attack on our ship.
Twice the US government has ignored our reports.
The attack on our ship is the only post-WWII attack on a @USNavy ship NOT investigated by the US government.
We are the only survivors of an attack on a @USNavy ship who have had to create a public effort to persuade the US government to investigate the attack on our ship.
Finally, after 58+ years we are beginning to get some traction in the internet community.
That traction is being met with accusations of grifting.
If what we are doing is grifting, how would you describe the action of the US government of allowing the @IDF to commit War Crimes to commit War Crimes against the United States with impunity and without remorse?
Indian-registered companies in the state of Illinois have received approximately 42% of all small business loans equaling $5 million each, amounting to a total of at least $85m.
Indians make up only ~2% of the total population of Illinois.
