Your speech, President Ruto, doesn't rise to the level of events.
Firstly, you didn't say a single word of apology or express regret for the death of at least two Kenyan citizens people, if “the news is true.” Your soldiers killed them, in addition to the harsh treatment against the demonstrators rather, you indirectly vowed more killing and the distribution of ready-made charges, and perhaps you will hold the demonstrators accountable for all your government mistakes and its corruption, if the protests against the draft finance law that caused the crisis continue.
Secondly, you tried to jump on top of the events and describe some of the protesters as criminals, even though such things happen all over the world, and there is always a price when unrest occurs, and the ruling authority often inserts its members among the demonstrators to commit arson, theft, looting, and all kinds of crime, then points its fingers to condemn the demonstrators, calling them criminals and other names, in order to create strife among them, divide their ranks, and divert them from their legitimate goals of objecting to the government or protesting against it.
Thirdly, what is unfortunate about your speech, Mr President, is that your speech is a pure dictatorial military man, not speech of an elected civilian man who implements the will of the people in the state.
Finally, you have said your word, President Ruto, and you must wait for the response of the Kenyan protesters as well, as long as you frame the issue as a challenge.
