I can’t believe people have to be talked into taking their annual leave. I’m guessing it’s people that haven’t experienced how delicious life is outside of maximising shareholder value?
Massively. Big distance makes good habits harder. You can get a job closer to work and just find yourself losing weight. All of a sudden gym is possible. All of a sudden you’re not too tired to cook. Your social life picks up cos you can accommodate after work drinks with friends. You can be a whole different person simply by working closer to home.
There is a Japanese Legend that says:
"Whether it's a machine, a house, or a relationship. Maintenance is always cheaper than repairing." What you don't maintain, you eventually lose.
