@TJosher@NickSF___ If it’s so bad that 20-30% of people are dqing, there’s probably an underlying issue with your tournament, and even then you would still probably get more attendees then you would have gotten pre-charging online.
@TJosher@NickSF___ Is this the case? Idk I haven’t hosted enough events to say but I feel like most people don’t care. People will also complain about their bracket paths being fucked by dqs and shit but besides that I don’t see it as a huge issue.
@TJosher@NickSF___ I think this is why prepaid tournaments will usually have super low entrants counts until the TO decides to mass invite a bunch of high level players who haven’t even confirmed attendance yet. The number and names of attendees matter so much
@TJosher@NickSF___ On the other hand, making people pay 25$ online for a local with 5 people currently registered feels like a gamble. People who would potentially want to register early are hesitant and decide to wait, thus significantly slowing down the traction of tournaments.
@TJosher@NickSF___ Forcing people to pay early for small events means less people will initially reg. Less people initially registering = less overall attendees
@NickSF___ Dq’s are inevitable - who cares
Letting people reg for free online helps small events more than it hurts them. It allows people to reg even if they aren’t sure they’re going, increasing entrant numbers, making your event look better and making it more likely for others to reg.
@how_u_do_in People outside the community are comparing this patch to strive 2.0 and getting that idea that the game is saved. We can be positive and happy about a good patch but also make it well known that this isn’t “the best patch in history that saved Tekken 8”
Ok I think people are giving this patch a little too much credit. It’s a good patch for sure but there’s still a million problems and getting this game to a good state is gonna take months of updates like this.
@VersatileLord00 Yeah but with this balance team you never know what you’re gonna get. The next patch could be great or they could buff every character again and take us 10 steps back. Hoping for the best but nothing would surprise me at this point.
