@CUTINBLVCK@Kuomozelion@Solidarity_Star I mean…couldn’t the same be true for AOC too? I’m sure her, Zohran, and the others in that group are on the same page as to what needs to be done as far as campaigning for others
@_mannys1ngh@FlyoutChase Mamdani has to settle his roots a bit more before thinking of that. He’s got a lot of social capital rn that can catapult him into a lot of progress and if he were to shoot for senate then a lot of that snowball would slow down tremendously
@gore_doII My Schrödinger’s woke take is that making a piece of art more accessible is almost always anti-art and when it’s not anti-art, it’s tainting the original piece. I understand why it may be made accessible, but it goes against the original intention of the art
@NoahPasternak it’s genuinely awe inspiring how much film evolved into its own medium. For the first decade or two, film wasn’t much more than a stage play that happened to be recorded. Not even 100 years later and it has almost no similarities with theater besides acting processes. Truly crazy
@Jinooo000@KraftLiku@vitorislost@beerprincess I never even brought up them being “less Korean”. You just made that up. The historical roots of maintaining white skin are within MANY cultures, including Korea, and all stem from the exact same reason. You are deluded to argue otherwise.
@Jinooo000@KraftLiku@vitorislost@beerprincess If your culture deems being tan as undesirable, and there are Koreans that are naturally tan or easily tan (which there are), that makes them less desirable to your society. Deeming people as undesirable is discrimination. That is the universal definition, no matter what.
@KraftLiku@vitorislost@beerprincess “They prefer light skinned people of their race”. That’s colorism and an extremely prejudiced view against people, especially your “homogenous” brothers and sisters. It’s pervasive in every culture in the world. Korea isn’t special for trying to make it seems quaint
@NeoUnrealist@x0Starlight@z9141706349251 The article explicitly says that Mamdani lifted the ban on the watch parties. “Drops ban” means that there was a prior ban and they rescinded the ban, i.e. “Dropping” it. How could they ban something that was already banned before Mamdani became mayor?
@FabricDynosaur@sinedesk@leonberdot@404Piano I was at SXSW last year and I was waiting in a line. I said this exact same thing to the group I was waiting with, and some fucking lady with a podcast or something walked by, said this line of thinking is traitorous and what “they” want us to believe, then left. Utter insanity
@livepoereaction@polished_steel Ask yourself and answer honestly, do you want to ge better? Or do you say you want to get better because it’s what you think you should want.
Until you can say the former as a certainty, nothing will ever change. Allow yourself to wallow, hit your lowest, then rise. That’s all
@ILMFlinkenstein People are saying the graphics, which is a part of it, but I’m telling you it’s the sound design. It’s realistic, which is the problem. In real life bleeding sounds “boring”. What you want is crunching and pops and bubbling and gurgles to make it impactful. RL has none of that
