Ciao and Happy New Month.✨
I've officially finished all 5 books I planned to read in May - The 5th Month.
1.Never Lie - Frieda McFadden
2.Royal Scars - Qudrah Adams
3.Unashamed - Lecrae Moore
4.Cursed Daughters - Oyinkan Braithwaite
5.The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins
Over to June. ✨
2. I loved the fact that Connor's father was Harry. To me, Harry and Evelyn were the perfect match, if not for the fact that Harry was who he was.
Yup! That's it.✨
I only picked up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo because of the way @Msliterarylover talked about it on TikTok.
I honestly don't know why so many people love this book, but these are the reasons I enjoyed it...
1. Throughout the entire reading experience, Evelyn Hugo felt like a real person. The writing made her story feel so believable that I often forgot she was fictional.
The affiliate system in Nigeria barely works. If someone sees a book influencer content and buys the book from a store nearby to avoid delivery fees. How does anyone track that the book influencer drove that sale? They can’t.
The picture I inserted here is a clear example. Someone in another country bought the book. Please how do you record that I influenced that purchase?
Also, compensation for me isn’t even always cash. Sometimes it’s just enough to execute a content idea properly. I’ve paid out of pocket for production before, especially for content I need assistance with. My mic cost 150k. My LED light cost 300k. I just got a MacBook 1.2M to learn editing. I still want a camera but I don’t have the funds for that. Does it make sense to keep doing all of this for free?
And let’s not forget. the world evolves. Visibility drives awareness, and awareness drives sales. With the amount of content on our feed, you need content that sticks. The kind that makes someone walk into a bookstore, see a title, and immediately remember a video they watched, and buy it.
Some people might not buy immediately but they would buy at some point.
Also, I’m not saying influencers shouldn’t accept free opportunities, but the way the author/brand/publisher communicates is important.
They should understand what it entails when it comes to both paid and unpaid campaigns, and not everyone is in the same level, which is why we have nano, micro and macro influencers.
@AnikeBeloved__ I'm an introvert and the only way I can fully express myself without feeling anything is by writing. When I write it's like I just let out something big.
I just finished reading this book and I have one question.
Was there really a curse?
Let me rephrase it.
Was the curse really the cause of thier problems.
Looking at Ebun's life I'm beginning to think otherwise....
