Just finished this Lebanese classic and I don't know what to think of it.
I have read of the civil wars, but the specifics of its effects in this book is disturbing. The psychological effect of patriarchal abuse and the shaming of the body is equally as disturbing.

@Rhosemary8 I have finally finished the book and I really wish the author gave me the satisfaction of seeing the Gozie man being in pain or her forever with her lecturer. ๐ It was a tormenting and great read. ๐โค๏ธ
