Boomers were just lucky to be born when they were born.
They benefited from a great welfare state growing up.
Then again benefitted as adults as they sold off that same exact welfare state.
But they will tell you in it was all down to their own hard work and nothing else.
@AJB2393@Essex_Patriot That is sad. But how could anyone know that would happen?
People have a right to live wherever they like. Doesn’t matter if you like that or not. That’s their right.
I don’t think they put foreigners first at all. They don’t put any of the working class first, at all.
@AJB2393@Essex_Patriot We’re not ‘housing the whole of Africa’. That’s just stupid.
Everyone should be housed. Built more houses and everyone gets one. Everyone needs a house. No matter where they’re from.
But being shoved in a hotel room with 10 other people, isn’t really great, is it?
@RupertLowe10 Because Neoliberalism doesn’t work!! You can’t have that again. There is nothing left to sell. No housing market to inflate. Boomers rode that wave and acted like it was their hard work. It wasn’t. It was pure luck and bad politics. Fuck Thatcher. And fuck you. You fucked us.
@thenowherephoto Well ask yourself why? Why would someone risk so much? Why leave their own home, probably never going back, never seeing their family again?
For what? To piss off British people, for ‘free stuff’? Bollocks. They aren’t going through all that for some bullshit UC claim.
@dfwdaniel_@WallStreetApes Yes and that’s just nonsense.
It’s just a really childish gotcha moment.
But it doesn’t work. Maybe for people on the internet who don’t like socialism and don’t understand it.
It’s not down to the individual, it’s a collective. Why should he be poor to continue this?
@AJB2393@Essex_Patriot Well that’s just a lie. They’re getting their basic needs met while their claim is being heard - which is the law. You have to house them, give them food, etc. The phones are from charities. After that they either given asylum or made to leave. It’s the process.
@EssexPR Climate breakdown is a real thing. If you don’t believe in that; you’re an absolute fucking idiot.
This has nothing to with it, too. This is just an equipment issue.
@LucyTCWife Why would this shock you?
Do you not remember that we have had well over a decade of Tory austerity now and they have underfunded everything?
Did you vote for the tories? This is on you.
You want the same thing with Farage. So it’ll get worse!!
@EssexPR It’s just hardcore Thatcherism with a lot more racism. That’s all you guys want. You really think that’s going to change anything? The economical model that people want just simply doesn’t work. That’s why we have people working 3 jobs and struggling. You need a rethink.
@hughmadborough Honestly ask yourselves why someone would leave their one home, their whole family and take their baby across the sea on a rubber boat? Why?
@hughmadborough Big man flex.
Clearly you’re the kind of people everyone would want in power.
First it’s the babies of people from a different land. Then it’s anyone’s babies.
Who’s to stay it’s not your child or grandkid next?
Don’t be fooled thinking that you’re British or white.
@SH_lotuseater Interesting to think you’ll actually get a look in.
Those homes would be hoovered up by rich people to rent back out at higher rents in seconds.
This isn’t a race issue, it’s always been a class issue.
You’re the same class as those on the boats. Never forget that.
@NotFarLeftAtAll Can we bring back all the public services we had then, too? All the jobs for life, unions, nationalisation, house prices, food prices, everything! All those things you voted to get rid of, by voting Tory your whole life and Thatcher destroyed. This is on you. Thanks boomer.
@Pennyarcade85@FFS_WhatNow Some people are just not capable of doing that. They are going to need support. I have no issues with that. Other people are in areas, where the paid work is so bad, that being on benefits is not that much of a loss to them. The wages need to change. Not the benefits.
@AJB2393@Essex_Patriot This whole thing was a result of tories policy. He’s framing it as if Labour are doing this on purpose. Fair enough you might not think they’re doing enough, but it wasn’t their policies that led us this far.
