@babybeginner This person isn't in a space with children. They're in their kitchen. And none of the things ya'll are fear mongering about actually happen. It's actually the other way around. Just be honest and admit you hate gay and trans people and don't want them to exist.
@raveryn@TheProblem Drag show readings aren't porn though. That's the strawman. No one's getting naked or having sex. They're reading books to kids in ways that teach them to accept different types of people. You're steamrolling any sense of nuance because you don't like how they present.
Music has lost one of its modern soul architects.
Michael Eugene Archer, better known as D’Angelo, the soul revolutionary, has reportedly passed away at 51 after a private battle with pancreatic cancer.
From Brown Sugar to Voodoo to Black Messiah, his music didn’t just move us, it ministered to us. His genius was fluid, gospel rooted, funk-soaked. It reminded the world that the Black soul is both divine and dangerous. And though the mic may fall silent, the echo still remains, humming the divine.
Rest in power.
there is no way we can talk about legends, no way we can talk about musical genius without talking about D’Angelo. the soundscape he created built bridges between the secular & spiritual worlds. what a seismic loss for funk/soul music lovers everywhere. 💔
Rest in Power, D’Angelo 🕊️
A true Maestro — his voice, vision, & spirit reshaped the sound of a generation.
He didn’t just make music — he built a language of soul, rooted in tradition but entirely his own.
Fly high, D'.

RIP D’Angelo, don’t even know what to say. Three timeless albums, each one an incredible expansion of his sound—a peerless, flawless discography. It wouldn’t even be crazy to say he released the best album of the 90s, the 2000s, and the 2010s. One of our greatest artists.
D'Angelo wasn't a soul of many words, because he seemed to believe his music would speak best for him. And it will. Forever for a multitude of generations and to comfort anyone who misses his soothing tone or decadent energy.
This moment is how I choose to remember him. Joyfully and excitedly playing his guitar and you can see in his face, that it was where he was most at home.
You can see his full interview in the documentary 'Finding the Funk' and see what made his soul light up. And thank you to D'Angelo for lighting up our spirits with his talent and may his sound and love continue to comfort his loved ones during such a significant loss.
As usual, many of the most "serious" people in our society are extremely unserious. But figuring out how to pick this stuff apart and to examine whose interests it serves and how it shows up every day is a very important part of being a member of a functioning civil society.
Rest in peace, Roberta… 🖤
