We're the diverse research group of Prof
@BorgaK@UniOslo We study toxicants: exposure & accumulation in and btw ecosystems + interactions & effects w/ natural stressors/climate change. Organisms range from tiny springtails/copepods/bumblebees🐛🐝 -> fish/birds 🐟🦅-> whales! 🐳
We looked at levels & intercorrelations of #legacy#PersistentOrganicPollutants, #dechloranes & #ChlorinatedParaffins
SCCPs & dechloranes positively correlated with recalcitrant POPs to a stronger extent than MCCPs or LCCPs, but all were surprisingly unrelated to dietary niche
🚨 New paper alert 🚨🥳🙌
We measured pollution levels in 10 species of marine mammals from Norway 🐳🐬🦭

@curious_smolt and I are co-first authors 😀
Summary of results here in my v. first infographic 🙈📊📈
Our #winter_research adventure continues today with Mathieu and Sophie joining the #Polar_Front Cruise. While I am proud of our winter expeditions and research, I fully aware of how challenging it can be with low temperatures, strong winds, waves and darkness @Arctic winter 1/2
On behalf of our research group, I will be giving a plenary talk about Seasonal and climate change effects on pollutant accumulations and effects in the Arctic marine food web. Exciting updates on #winter#multiple_stressors#pollutants, #TippingPoint#Arctic
Great talk today by Khuong V. Dinh from @biovitenskap at the @nansenlegacy Symposium in Tromsø.
@khuongaquatic talked about "Seasonal and Climate Change Effects on Pollution Accumulation and Effects in the Arctic Marine Food Web":

Attention UiO friends! @UniOslo@UiO_ResearchMN@unioslo_mn@biovitenskap
Don't miss @konnichiwadolph Leanne Rosser talking about her dolphin research in Japan, and this >> cool paper tomorrow at the AQUA/CEES double seminar! 13:15-15:00 in room 4426, Kristine Bonnevies hus 🐬
Gender reveal!🥳🐳
Psyched that a causal lunchtime chat with @DrAdamWarner@Raincoast at #PSEC ended with us determining sex in ALL our Norwegian orca samples today! 🤩🐳 Sneaky subadults - your secret is out! 😏😆 So cool to get value from every tiny leftover DNA!🤩 Thank you!🙏
Big congratulations Amalie for your excellent master defense today @BorgaK@BorgaGroup@biovitenskap Conducting a long term 3-stressor experiment with Arctic zooplankton was fascinating but highly challenging. You made it all!! @nansenlegacy
🚨NEW PAPER🚨 🇦🇶🛳️With climate change meaning the Arctic is becoming increasingly accessible to shipping, how can the supporting port infrastructure be developed in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way, with Arctic communities involved from the outset?

This whale is named Skye - she & her offspring are helping us understand the effect of multiple stressors in Norwegian killer whales. Knowledge about individuals is essential!🐳
Inspiring the next generation of biologists! Today our group member @CAndvik held a presentation at the @UniOslo open day about what it is like to study @biovitenskap at @unioslo_mn - and specifically her research on killer whales and pollutants. Lots of interested students!
