🚨 A father of 3 was run over and left with fatal brain injuries after stepping in to stop a woman from being strangled at a gas station at 2:30 in the morning.
Billy Grooms, 49, was with his son at an Ohio gas station when they reportedly saw a young woman being grabbed by the throat beside a Ford F-150. Witnesses said the attacker threw her to the ground, kicked her, ripped away her phone, then climbed back into the truck.
Billy tried to intervene. Seconds later, the truck slammed into him and ran over his body.
He suffered multiple broken bones and catastrophic brain trauma. Doctors kept him on life support for days before his condition became irreversible. He died on June 4.
The woman later said Billy “saved her life.” Family members said he died doing exactly what he always did — trying to protect someone else. After his death, his organs were prepared for donation so he could continue saving lives even after the attack.
He saw a woman being attacked and chose to step in, even knowing the danger could cost him everything. 🚨
In a world where many people stay silent and walk away, Billy Grooms proved that real courage still exists. thoughts?
Last night, my son Jordan came into my room and said, "Mom, let me tell you what happened to me today! I was at Walmart, getting ready to leave, when my car battery died. So, I went back into the store and bought some jumper cables...
There was a man in a white truck parked next to me. I asked if he could give me a jump, and he said what I really needed was a new battery. I told him I couldn’t afford a new battery right now because I had a $400 insurance bill due today. The man asked if I was a single parent because I had the baby with me, and I told him, 'No, her mom is at work.' He told me to pull around to the auto department, so I did. I thought he was going to have them charge my battery. But Walmart auto was really busy, so the man said, 'Follow me to Auto Zone.'
I followed him to the store. The man went inside, talked to someone, then came back to my car and said someone would be out in a few minutes. He shook my hand and drove off. A few minutes later, an employee came out with a brand new battery to put in my car! Jordan had tears in his eyes!
He said, 'Mom, I didn’t even know the man’s name!'
To the kind gentleman driving the white truck in North Augusta yesterday, who helped my son and granddaughter… Thank you!!
@feelgoodtale@hebgt2 I've been on both sides. When I needed help, it appeared. When I had a chance to help, I did. Karma is neutral. You get what you give.
