Just tried out Claude Fable 5. Wow!! It was able to complete one of my most difficult evals: Composing an original chiptune using ZzFXM library.
No models have been able to even create well known songs such as Twinkle, twinkle before.

Not SOTA chiptune but certainly a lot better than I could ever do myself. This took just a couple of minutes for Claude Fable. I can post prompt also if anyone find it useful..
I find the validation part interesting - it renders the ZzFXM music to a wav file, next analysis to find the correct levels and mix!? So basically it is "listening" and course correcting. Impressive!

@emollick I remember trying to create novel sokoban puzzles with sota models a year ago and they failed miserably. Guess latest models are still not up to the task then.
I just had to test rendering Mermaid diagrams with Nano Banana Pro. Needs some handholding but I'm impressed. Got this organic hand drawn style after some meta prompting.
