@Grummz I agree๐ฐ itโs worrisome. but I found the use of the word Samurai relevant. I think accuracy is key. Part of an activists goal is the negative reaction. So they cherry pick extreme examples and write articles about how the reaction proves that racism is pervasive. Is so annoying
@Grummz In the last 1/3 of the video he recounts an important historical fact worth mentioning about the Samurai debate. Itโs well worth watching. https://t.co/T3O9ofeJbw
@ZBrag101@IGN Ah. Yeah that was not meant as a retort. The screencap I included definitely agrees with you. Other people in the comments seem to be interpreting Retainer by modern use of the word. Unfortunately the historical accounts wonโt save us from the arguments that will ensue.
@ZBrag101@IGN A samurai was hereditary and they served a lord for land. A retainer (Kashin) was not hereditary and severed in exchange for bulk food. Both soldiers. Itโs unconfirmed but I wouldnโt be surprised. Huge reach advantage ๐ UBIs historian is an activist.. So this will be noisy ๐ซค
@matt_vanarsdall @Grummz@Ubisoft A character who is an outsider to the native culture is an interesting storytelling device. But It is absolutely crazy that Ubisoft ignores the SHINOBI in a series of ASSASSINS games for 18 years then does this. Divisive AF! But.. the aesthetic & gameplay looks really cool ๐คท๐ป
