Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.

The project is being constructed with an investment of Rs 9791 Crores to supply affordable and reliable power to Chhattisgarh as home state and other beneficiary states, such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra & Goa.

NTPC family is deeply shocked by today's unfortunate incident which led to the sad demise of our employee, Shri Kumar Gaurav, DGM posted at Kerandari Coal Mining Project in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, his colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time.

We strongly condemn this act of violence on our workforce who are always on a mission mode to provide reliable, affordable and uninterrupted supply of power 24x7 to the nation.

The safety of our employees and workers is paramount for us, and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that they work in a safe environment.

The site management is committed to extend full cooperation to the police and administration for a thorough investigation and concrete action in this regard.

NTPC Ltd announces the launch of 𝐂𝐎𝟐 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲—a significant milestone in its journey towards sustainable and innovative energy solutions.

The CO2 Battery, with an energy capacity of 160 MWHr, will be set up at #NTPCKudgi (Karnataka).

This innovative project, undertaken by NETRA, NTPC's R&D wing, will be executed in collaboration with Triveni Turbine Limited and Energy Dome, Italy.

The project also supports the Government of India's #MakeInIndia and #AtmanirbharBharat initiatives.

Commenting on the development, @CMDNTPC Gurdeep Singh states, "This is a landmark achievement in the domain of Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES). NTPC is proud to be at the technology forefront with the CO2 Battery at #KudgiStation."

NTPC is demonstrating its latest innovative and sustainable initiative ‘Sukh’ Eco-house at India International Trade Fair from 14th to 27th November 2024.

‘Sukh’ Eco-house is an in-house initiative of NTPC to utilize fly-ash, a by-product of thermal power plants, to construct houses that are both ecological and economical. Built with 80% fly-ash, Ecohouses are powered with solar energy, making them a true sustainable living option, while costing around ₹1.5 lakh for a 1 BHK unit.

The use of ash-based building material in Eco-houses eliminates the requirement for cement and natural aggregates, leading to lower carbon emissions and prevention of topsoil erosion. Apart from these benefits, Eco-houses are also in compliance with PMAY-G design.

With ‘Sukh’ Eco-house, NTPC is not only providing a sustainable and affordable housing solution to everyone but also utilizing waste in order to conserve natural resources.
