@Jasonforpeace Quite disgusting but quite normal for a failed state: the older Montenegrins are tired and impotent, the younger ones are trying to make ends meet and survive, the ideologically possessed ones dont care … TOO sad.
@StephenKing Some commentators don’t get that you’ve always been engaged with the world politically. I’ve read you since I was a teenager. On Writing, Hearts in Atlantis, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Under the Dome are my favourites. Keep it up. Much respect from Montreal. 🇨🇦🫶
@anneapplebaum Extraordinary how some of the comments here attempt to make sense of what is a non-sensical, illogical set of actions from a self-serving wannabe dictator…
@FareedZakaria@CNN@HelleThorning_S@Dr_E_Kendall@MikeFroman Dugan is an anti-democratic politician inspired by the worst of Heidegger’s neo-fascist ideas. Giving him a platform is OK but you might have added a commentary to explain that his ultimate desire is the annihilation of Western mores and culture. 😢
@Kasparov63 We had to learn this song by heart in Yugoslavia—I still know the words. After 45 years in Canada, I never thought I would see such unconscious idiots.
@MikeClarke2020s My Canada is a confederation; America is a republic: Trump can’t tell the difference nor can Musk & the company. Canadians were the fiercest fighters in 2 world wars, so our best neighbour to the south might be in for a surprise? And there’s that “minor” matter of 1812? Eh? 🥹🇨🇦
@MikeClarke2020s Many thanks. Don’t wish to miss your analyses. Our group values your insights. My friend Brian Farrell is a military historian at NUS, trained here at McGill by our late mentor, Robert Vogel (https://t.co/ZCH1JODwkJ)
@MikeClarke2020s Dear Professor Clarke, a historian friend texted you were on Sky yesterday? Was it the one from 4 days ago regarding Ukraine? I cannot tune into Sky as often as I’d like, to watch your superb analyses, but I’d like to know if you did a new one just yesterday?
@Kasparov63 Rogan, an original interviewer way back, is an uneducated auto-didact: as 99% of such ilk, he inevitably falls for his own solipsism, like an unconscious idiot. Part of the unwashed masses whom he emulates & who worship him. Sad. He is beneath you. Don’t waste your time on him.
@darshan She was my supervisor’s close friend. Many more discoveries on this topic have been made since her timeline. Our modern ways are not conducive to healthy, life-enhancing routines. Scientists of her ilk excelled at such. Good on you for reminding us that it IS possible.
@darshan You got much of right, but not all, in terms of modern life. Your brain needs food (fatty but healthy kind) to function, so eating once a day will work for someone who has a rigid routine but not for our modern younger people, who often do not have such.
@Dasha_Navalnaya I am so very sorry for the loss of your father. My late husband taught history here at McGill University and he always spoke to his students of extraordinary Russian dissidents such as Sakharov, Politkovskaya and others. Your father was the best of the best. ❤️🩹🌹
@MikeClarke2020s The figures were revised in 1989 to 28 million as I was studying WW2 with McGill Uni’s finest, my mentor Robert Vogel. Don’t have the current figures, but we knew of huge Russian casualties. Putin is a self-serving butcher. Nothing more. An atavistic savage.
@MikeClarke2020s Having just seen interviews with Anne Applebaum re her new book, I am not surprised. She gathers the threads of our new world order, based on “transactional” nature of Chinese, Russian, North Korean dictatorships, as well as the “wannabes”—you know who. 🥺
