Easily one of the oddest video series ever produced was Havoc!, which set serious racing accidents, and sometimes innocuous spins to classical and contemporary music in what was typically a jumbled mess. But @Klippy27 and @StevenKilsdonk recall it fondly.
This German fan came to the USA for the World Cup and has quickly become my favorite account to follow by simply posting his every stop across the country.
He’s roadtripping through the south from town to town absolutely loving life.
The perfect timeline cleanse.
Eighty seven years old today. Not only a great driver and multiple World Champion but also a fearless pioneer of driver safety when the sport was needlessly killing three or four driver every year. Also a great shot !
RIP Soldier Field: 1924-2002
Soldier Field died when the city of Chicago and Ted Phillips decided to completely destroy one of the greatest stadiums in NFL history.
Look at those beautiful alternating seats in a classic bowl shape bringing you closer to the field!
But since the 2003 renovation destroyed the original shape of the Soldier Field, it lost its historic landmark title.
While I view Packers as rivals, Bears should have gone with the Lambeau Field gradual improvement approach.
Let’s upgrade the restrooms, concourses, and hallways
Then let’s upgrade the pro shop and hall of fame
Then let’s add the suites and all the other extras
If we had done it that way, we would have 80k+ seat capacity with all of the perks of a modernized stadium
But Ted Phillips and Chicago opted for better luxury suites at the expense of the average fan’s seats.
The 2003 renovation shrank the capacity by 15,000 seats and completely took away the originality of what made Soldier Field great.
Because that job was done so poorly and because it was improperly funded, Bears have been stuck with a shell of itself for a long time
If there was anyway to get this classic Soldier Field back, I would.
But it’s time to move on.
Lastly, one piece of advice to our new stadium build in Hammond.
Give us a state of the art stadium, but be sure to give room for future and gradual improvement.
This is the way…
Architect Antoni Gaudí designed the Sagrada Família so that its central Tower of Jesus Christ would rise prominently above the basilica, while remaining lower than the mountain of Montjuïc out of respect for God's creation, reflecting his belief that no human achievement should surpass the work of the Creator.
Just realized the Europeans will be present to watch Joey Chestnut inhale 84 pork pistols on live television in honor of our nation’s independence.
That one will break them completely.
