You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold."
So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house?
I didn't sell it.
I didn't cash out.
I didn't make a profit.
But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year.
Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.
In Minneapolis, John Sawchak, a white man, shot his Black neighbour Davis Moturi in the neck from an upstairs window while Moturi was trimming a tree on his own property.
The shooting followed months of harassment by Sawchak, including racial slurs ("Black bastard"), threats with weapons, vandalism, and repeated abuse.
Moturi’s family had filed at least 19 police reports, with active warrants against Sawchak that police had not served due to his mental illness and firearms.
Moturi survived but suffered serious injuries: fractured spine, broken ribs, collapsed lung, and concussion. He underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
Sawchak was arrested after a SWAT standoff. He faces charges including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, stalking, and harassment. Prosecutors called it racially motivated.
He was later ruled incompetent to stand trial and remains in custody. The case drew widespread criticism over police failures despite repeated warnings.
Many people don’t know this, but we pay a fee on every airplane ticket purchased that’s supposed to go directly to fund TSA.
But 10 years ago, Congress passed bipartisan legislation that diverted the security fee revenue into a general “slush fund”.
Everything is a scam. 😩

BREAKING: The man killed trying to enter Mar-a-Lago with a shotgun was a white, Christian Trump supporter.
Not trans. Not a Democrat. Not an immigrant.
He believed in Trump and was crushed by an economy that left him desperate.
That’s the real story.

Congressional Hearing: Healthcare CEO Edition.
Imagine what your healthcare is valued at if insurance companies own the pharmacy, doctors, hospitals, and clinics you're assigned to. Then ask yourself, WTF?
This timeline is worth revisiting—often. American slavery lasted nearly 250 years. When it ended in 1865, freedom did not immediately translate into equal rights. What followed was almost 90 years of segregation, enforced through laws and social systems that shaped daily life across generations. Segregation was not fully dismantled until the mid-1950s.
This matters because history doesn’t exist in isolation. The effects of long-standing systems don’t disappear overnight. There are people alive today whose parents and grandparents lived through segregation, making this history far closer than it often seems.
Progress came through persistence—through organizing, legal challenges, education, and sustained civic engagement. Change required effort, time, and commitment from those who refused to accept inequality as permanent.
Sharing reminders like this isn’t about assigning blame. It’s about preserving context. Understanding timelines helps explain why certain conversations still matter and why historical awareness remains relevant today.
When history isn’t revisited, it’s often misunderstood. Remembering it accurately helps inform the present—and shape a more informed future.
