Anger may seem to be a source of energy, but it’s blind. It causes us to lose our restraint. It may stir courage, but again it’s blind courage. Negative emotions, which often arise from a spontaneous impulse, cannot be justified by reason, whereas positive emotions can. Scientists suggest that constant anger and hatred undermine our immune system. Compassion, bringing inner strength, is good for our health.
Through meditation, self-observation, and comprehension, we can uncover the causes of our suffering and begin to transform them.

THANK YOU MESSAGE
I would like to thank you all for your greetings on my 91st birthday. As I mentioned to those gathered here in Leh, Ladakh, India on 6 July, when I look back on my life, I see that the core of my practice has been to be of benefit to others. That is the altruistic motivation with which I wake up every day.
Spreading compassion and kindness continues to be my life's primary mission. Such an attitude is essential to making our world a better place for everyone. I therefore call on my brothers and sisters everywhere, both young and old, to practice warm-heartedness and compassion, with genuine concern for the well-being of others. To be able to do so is, I believe, what it means to lead a meaningful and purposeful life of service.
As you may be aware, following a successful medical procedure on my left knee in New Delhi last month, I have since been recuperating here in Ladakh. As in past years, I find the climate here at this time of year well suited to my health, and I therefore plan to remain in Ladakh for the next several weeks.
With my prayers and good wishes,
DALAI LAMA

Seeing our faults is only the first step. Through meditation, we can understand their roots, transform them, and awaken greater consciousness.

I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the principal source of success in life.
What if life's challenges aren't obstacles, but opportunities to awaken? Every moment can reveal truth—if we observe with consciousness.

@GlorianPublishi Reading through Profound Meditations. I remember the author having a similar lecture on 'Peace and Where to Find It' which was powerful because his voice gave colour to the words. This condensed version is a delight. Coherent and practical. Awakening and religion's purpose clear.
Freedom isn't just the absence of outer limitations. We can still be imprisoned by fear, anger, desires, and unconscious habits.
True freedom begins with self-observation. As consciousness awakens, we discover inner freedom.

Our thoughts, emotions, and habits often cloud our perception. Through meditation, we learn to quiet these influences so consciousness can awaken and experience reality more directly.
What helps you find inner stillness?

Calm Mind, Happy Life - His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the real key to a happy life: it's not money, power, or health — it's a calm, peaceful mind. Video originally recorded on September 9, 2006.
True change begins with self-knowledge. By understanding our desires, traumas, and unconscious behaviors, we can access a wisdom beyond the intellect and the senses. The journey inward is the path to transformation.
