First, he told us that the fine was ₹7,000 but offered a “cash discount” of ₹1,500 if we paid him directly. We didn’t have that much cash, so I went to an ATM while my female friend stayed in the car.

And that’s when the real abuse started.

Instead of just waiting, this so-called officer started asking my friend inappropriate personal questions—where she lives, which village she’s from. Then he smugly said, “I can earn more fines right now, but I’m focusing on you and giving you a discount.”

When I returned with ₹1,000, he refused to let us go until my friend gave him her personal phone number. Only then did he let us leave.
Is this what Mumbai Police stands for? Harassing female drivers? Taking bribes? Misusing their power?
