Lost memories is the one that stings the most, and the one I fear the most as I continue to age. For me, my posts on X are a diary I hope to use in the coming years to recover lost thoughts and feelings.
Using a technology first discovered at Harvard, a baby's life is saved by UPenn doctors.
A striking example of how science helps humanity.

Exciting news! We have two postdoc positions opened in our lab @UF! Study gut hypoxia & virus immunity OR immunity and intracellular trafficking in polarized cells. Come do cool science with a fun team! Check out all details: https://t.co/rT2W85WXhx #PostdocJobs#ScienceTwitter
Great talk from @ZinaUckeley at the German society of virology #GfV2025
How hypoxia in the gut impacts rotavirus infection. Great feedbacks from the attendees! Great meeting as usual!
What I don't get about academia is the chronic lack of celebration. It is hard to get & maintain grant funding, hard to get papers accepted without Faustian bargains, hard to be a great mentor, & hard to maximize trainee success. All of it is hard. We should celebrate everything.
We are very proud of our amazing undergrad student Victoria Karaluz. She is a student ambassador for our Emerging pathogen Institute @UF_EPI . Bonus info, we are revealing the rebranding of our labs with @Megan_Stanifer : the #Boulanifer.lab
Working with EPI members @BoulantLab and @Megan_Stanifer, @UF_CLAS undergraduate Victoria tackles the pathogens that infect our intestines.
"I'm getting the answer to questions that people have never asked before," she said.

Officially official 🥳🎉🥂 #CIHR grant celebrations today with #SanterLab & @tmurooka2 who also got his grant where I play small part as Co-I
So thankful to our co-Is, collabs & all in our lab + #sisterlab who worked hard to help get this funded 🙏

Should I be proud or worried? This is the first time that one of my tweet makes it into the news.
Trump’s freeze on NIH causes alarm

@BoulantLab We are in the same situation, with grant scored at 3rd % and council meeting cancelled until further notice. I would think and hope at some point they will resume and fundable grants will be funded but timeline is unpredictable at this point
Some months ago, I received the great news that my #NIH RO1 grant received a likely fundable score. With the NIH not being able to hold meetings and take decision, the council meeting is canceled ( was planned next week). I have now so many questions now! 🧵/1
A big thank to @UF_EPI for creating this cool video explaining our research. A major thank to all my team and @Megan_Stanifer team members for being so motivated and committed in their research. A special to @Sorin_Jacobs for being part in this cinematographic journey.
How do low oxygen levels impact the viruses in our gut? Can understanding their relationship lead to better treatment of enteric viruses?
#Rotavirus and #norovirus beware! The @BoulantLab's #research aims to take you down. 👊
