This panel at 𝗔𝗙𝗦𝗠𝗖-𝗣𝗖𝗦𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 examines 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Our speakers will explore:

مع انكماش ميزانيات منصات الإعلام العلمي العالمية وتراجع تغطيتها، أصبحت الصحافة العلمية المحلية هي خط الدفاع الأول والوحيد أحياناً في تعزيز تفاعل الجمهور مع العلم. في منطقتنا العربية، تبرز الصحف الوطنية والمجلات المتخصصة كأصوات أساسية تشكل وعي المجتمعات بقضايا الصحة، والمناخ، والتكنولوجيا التي تمس حياتهم اليومية.

تبحث هذه الجلسة النقاشية ضمن ملتقى 𝗔𝗙𝗦𝗠𝗖-𝗣𝗖𝗦𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 في الأهمية المتزايدة للصحافة العلمية المحلية في ظل تراجع الإعلام العالمي، حيث ستتناول الجلسة:

Hello from Palestine!

This is Lifta. It was a Palestinian village just outside of Jerusalem.

In 1948, Zionist paramilitaries massacred local residents and launched repeated attacks. They drove out the local population.

This was one example of the horrors of the Nakba, when 750,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes and 15,000 were murdered.

Today only the ruins remain, but a few of the survivors - and many thousand descendants - live on.
