Laughable. The point isn’t what anyone makes, it is the unilateral wage restrictions on only one class, the athlete. You seem to suggest that athletes (a) should be happy to accept less, (b) aren’t worth what is being offered them right now, (c) should accept less to ensure other sports have more money, or (d) all of the above. It is patently absurd to have an industry wide restriction on only one class of person. After criticizing paying athletes with “other people’s money,” you then suggest broadcasters should accept less (ostensibly to give to athletes, which seems to be “other people’s money”) or be quiet. The notion that athlete pay jeopardizes college sports while no other expenditure does is absurd. College sports generates billions annually. It can certainly handle paying athletes fair value. When players make a decision, it’s “for the money.” When others make a decision, it’s just business. That’s ridiculous.
