Going to further piggyback off this; they have no right to call it, "Walt Disney's" anymore. This is now Carousel of Progress 2.0. Sure, the "idea" of CoP is still the same, but Walt's vision of 'through the 20th century till the modern day" is now out the window.

I am beyond devastated. I have absolutely no words to describe my full emotions, other than sadness, anger, and depression. I will be there on July 5th for the final show. I will never step foot back on Disney property after that day.

I'm going to wait until Disney makes an OFFICIAL announcement. IF true, this is the second worst thing Disney could do, first being a movie overlay. What makes Carousel of Progress so special is it's the only ride at WDW that Walt actually touched! New sets would invalidate this.

Carousel of Progress may be getting far more than a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure. Sources say the refresh could amount to a near-complete overhaul, with entirely new scenes on a new timeline replacing the bulk of the show.

@goonie5555 @wdwmagic As a 1993 Carousel of Progress advocate, there has been "official" news from every non-official Disney news source dating back two decades, that a major change like this is planned and "in the works." I'm waiting until Disney officially announces the changes before anything

@wdwmagic Before anyone believes anything, let's wait till an official announcement from Disney. Although the refurbishment is official, there have been rumors like this circulating on old forums dating back till 1997. Let's just wait to hear until Disney themselves reveals more details

I am publicly putting this out there so when it happens, I can say "I told you so." This Wednesday, 4/22/26, 8am, @DisneyParks will drop new info, including a closing date for refurbishment, for the Carousel of Progress. Why this day? The show's original anniversary/debut.
