The Eighth Circuit ordered expedited briefing on the federal lawsuit involving Missouri's congressional map.
In the meantime, Missouri's only legal map - the 6 Republican - 2 Democrat one - is in effect.

Note too that this is at least ostensibly 9-0. The lack of even a noted Alito dissent means they thought the District Court was seriously out of line. I don't know of another SCOTUS case in US history outside the First Amendment where a trial court's TRO was stayed 9-0.

With no stated dissent, they grant a stay on Judge Clark's ruling that Missouri can only use the new gerrymander. That means the old, 2022 map has to be used, likely saving Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver.
