BREAKING: Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud & Ashrafieh in Aleppo have been sealed off by Turkish-backed Sultan Suleiman Shah (Amshat) & Hamza (Hamzat) Divisions — both implicated in massacres in Syria’s coast & Sweida.

Since the SDF withdrew to facilitate integration into the Syrian Government, only local Asayish police remain. Residents — including Christians & Yazidis — are extremely fearful.

And now reports of heavy weapons entering adjacent neighborhoods.

The U.S. & international community must press Turkey & Damascus to withdraw these divisions. How does this build trust for integrating all of NE Syria into the state?

According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense, the Syrian army has 'no intention' of waging war against the SDF, and says the clashes are a result of Kurdish provocations.
