A THREAD:
Seamus Coleman was signed by Everton in Jan ‘09 at the age of 20.
He arrived in a quiet transfer window alongside Brazilian, Jô for a fee of £60k.
Expectations were far from high for the Irishman from Sligo Rovers described by manager Moyes as ‘Forrest Gump’.
I’m a Moyes fan & feel this is a fair assessment on the season.
Will still defend the fact he had a big summer turnaround, it’s NOT his squad of players (& most have just been in relegation battles) along with the wages being paid to players are not that of a top 8 side.

The red flag with Dart isn’t even that he supports Trump. He’s a rich white kid that went to Ole Miss. It was assumed.
It’s that he either wasn’t smart enough to realize this was a PR mistake or he’s too arrogant/proud of it to care
It’s 2026, we know who Trump is. We know he’s looting the country. We know he did unspeakable things with Jeffrey Epstein. We know he torments communities of color with ICE thugs.
It’s embarrassing af to align publicly with this guy when you’re the new face of NY football.
Said yesterday this will cause a divide in the team!
Either Dart is incredibly naive & stupid or his advisors are incredibly dumb.
Either way I’m glad Carter has spoke up.
The leader of your team is supporting a man many accuse of being racist & has ties to a paedophile. Facts
What the actual fuck?!
We all know Trump is a moron… now I’ve got to question Dart’s team around him suggesting this might be a good idea!
Why even risk dividing a fanbase & a locker room?!
You’re not untouchable Jaxson.

Trump: I’m looking at Jaxon… I'm looking at the legs there. He's this beautiful guy. He's got legs like tree trunks. This is not a good thing for women.
No shortage of overreactions on here again after yesterday. What is shocking are the number of fans who want a return to the way Moshiri made decisions at this club, reactionary with no long term plan.
@jgero1@Peterboxtop They lose their best players, but the replacements are also the managers players because he recruited them.
Moyes doesn’t have that because he’s had one summer window.
I’m not comparing us to Bournemouth but why would Iraola have more success with us than he’s having with them?
@LewisClarke_@Peterboxtop Those teams stayed good because it’s that managers squad of players!
If they lose a player the replacement is a player they have recruited themselves.
Moyes doesn’t have that luxury as it’s not his squad of players as he’s only been here for one summer transfer window.
@Kirkham81 And now they’re sat on the same points as us having spent £500 million on players for Eddie Howe to build his squad.
While Moyes has only had one summer window & spent £100mil in comparison.
@efctruth20802 It’s called being realistic.
It’s a shite squad of players based on our league positions over the past 3/4 years.
He’s had one summer window to change that & has won more points in his time than clubs like Brentford, Bournemouth & Newcastle who have been building for years!
Apparently we haven't progressed since Moyes returned?!
A reminder the 3 seasons before his arrival we finished 15th, 17th & 16th.
Since his return we have more points than Iraola's Bournemouth, Howe’s Newcastle & Andrews’ Brentford.
We have one less point than Brighton!
@efctruth20802 Because no one is asking for Daniel Farke or Regis Le Bris as our next manager!
But ok… Sunderland spent £80 million more than us & Leeds spent £10 million less.
They also never had 12 first team players out of contract at the end of last season.
@efctruth20802 You mean the £100 or so million Moyes has spent since his return?
In comparison to the £500 million Eddie Howe has been able to spend on his squad or the £390 million Iraola has spent on his?
Both of which have less points than Moyes since his return.

When Moyes did have time to build a team we would consistently be the best outside of the top 6 for a number of years…more than Iraola is doing at Bournemouth.
Give me a Coleman, Baines, Jags, Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar squad of players over what Bournemouth have right now any day
I don’t understand how people can’t see why Iraola is doing a good job because his squad is made up of his signings over 6 transfer windows which cost £390mil.
David Moyes has had one summer transfer window with 12 players out of contract & only spent £100mil.
