What happens when our stream of consciousness turns inward, towards the body? Our new fMRI study of 536 individuals finds that 'body-wandering' is associated with distinct patterns of brain connectivity, physiology, affect, and mental health: https://t.co/wepZGVCMXl
Got Butterflies in your Stomach?😵💫I am super excited to share the first major study of my postdoc @visceral_mind! We report a multidimensional mental health signature of stomach-brain coupling in the largest sample to date 🧵👇https://t.co/THzlnraMW5
Research shows breathing can change our exteroceptive and affective perception, but how does this work? Pleased to share our latest study, led by @BrMalthe w/ Daniel Kluger, where we investigated the cognitive mechansims using computational modeling! https://t.co/nE20fYknck 🧵👇
Thermosensory predictive coding underpins an illusion of pain! Our new study reveals how perceptions of pain can emerge from the interplay between thermal sensations, expectations, and uncertainty. Check out our thread for all the details! 🧵👇 https://t.co/1C4J7YfTb4
📄 New @bpplab_au preprint 👀! In more than 250 individuals, we investigated the link between mental health and sensitivity to acute thermal pain 🌡️😣. Check out our thread 🧵👇 for surprising findings, as well as links to all study materials and code! https://t.co/yc0cfN4snN
@Slagmark_dk #83 on gender and history has just arrived from the printing house! My fellow editor and office mate @LouiseRognlien and I will now have to find other means of immersive procrastination to take our minds off our theses.
@nataliepeluso@visceral_mind I try to breathe out and then from -2 to o sec. and then just stop airflow completely at t=0 in the hold condition. When breathing it is nasally - no control of Thoracic vs. diaphragmatic - so a bit of both i guess.
@psychopy@micahgallen No - sorry. In the experiment I am running the physio recording.
I made test a script ^^ with no physio recording and replicated the rt effect.
@psychopy@micahgallen I am running a physio recording in a second thread - I don't have any other windows.
Can that explain it?
If yes - I would have guessed that It would affect RTs both during stimulus presentation (during the win flips) and after?
@psychopy@micahgallen It seems clear by now, that we should have used the keyboard class.
However, I'm still surprised to see this behaviour from waitKeys.
