This Twitter thing is not for me. It is an echo chamber, somewhere to shout, to vent, to belittle or be generally nasty. It adds nothing to my life and I shall be forever amazed at the shocking level of absolutism on display. Bye - have fun kids😁
When the government piloted universal entitlement to free school meals in primary schools it increased attainment by the equivalent of 2 months in the classroom.
An extra 4.5% of 11 year olds meeting the expected maths level? Tell me again why this is a waste of money.
@Rosewood_Farm Even in supermarkets beef is still plentiful & has not suffered the inflation of other products. The products that are missing from shops are the ones that use the most
fossil fuels in their production
@bryan_ogden Putting the focus on ruminants is conveniently diverting attention from the far far bigger problems of emissions from oil, gas, construction, transportation, chemicals etc. And the corporations will love that as they can then sell more plant based UPFs.
@bryan_ogden The UK ruminant herd has reduced quite significantly. So this, I'm conjuction with many on farm initiatives such as anaerobic digestion, feed additives, regenerative practices, means that given methane is cyclical in its nature, any issues from ruminants is being solved /2
@bryan_ogden Are you really not understanding what I said?
Let's take it again - Bison are ruminants. The historic population was around 80-85% of the present day cattle/cows population of the US. Did bison cause climate change problems from their methane emissions? /1
@bryan_ogden@ClimateDad77 If the number of ruminants remains constant, then the amount of methane in the atmosphere remains constant, and is a circular system.
UK cattle/cows Gerd reduced by 10 million over past 30 years or so.
US historic bison about 80-85% of present cattle/cow numbers. They burp too
@ruslandvalley I am doing similar in the Dales. The Pontbren project piqued my interest. I came across that via a friend from Friends of the Dales. I think of it as a win-win. I can help the “environment” and my livestock at the same time.
Good morning. Just to confirm, all the tree planting I’m doing is in hedgerows and shelter belts, to restore the cultural landscape and reinstate traditional field boundaries. It will be better for the sheep for rotational grazing. I’m not planting up fields.

2022 Britain has no assets and a national debt of £2.5 trillion.
Neoliberalism started by Thatcher has destroyed the UK.
