April 29, 2011 in Boston, MA the National Cheer Safety Foundation hosted the first-ever Athlete Abuse Prevention Summit with the help of Dr. Cantu, Dr. Fred Mueller, Dr. Appenzeller and the @USSportsAcademy. Dr. Micheal Minix presented on Child Athlete Abuse Disorder.
In 2011, a young lawyer Jason Luckasevic from Pennsylvania filed the landmark, NFL Brain Damage lawsuit in what would become the most important case in sports law history.
On 11/11/11, the @USSportsAcademy hosted their first “Concussion Summit” with a panel of experts that included speakers, award recipients & attendees from across the sport spectrum & from around the world. This ground breaking day set the standard for education on brain injuries.
Last year, after a decade of growing the most incredible female sport there is, Acrobatics & Tumbling, the NCAA added it to their emerging sport list. The National Cheer Safety Foundation has been a supporter of the @theNCATA since they were founded in 2010. #wecount
