Passion for #Tech, #RightToRepair and #Recycling. Like to learn/teach/fix. R&D Guru by day, Father/fixer by night. I have a need to learn. My opinions. he/him.
@PcPhilanthropy Used to work in telecom and as soon as I was sitting, the wrist strap had to be worn. A coworker actually got fired for blowing up 3 prototype laser diodes as a result of not wearing his and zapping them (at 5k$ each prototype).
@gunsnrosesgirl3 Same principle as wave soldering. Used such a tip as an RMA tech in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Also supervised a wave station my first week working after the University.

@ATaylorFPGA I used to produce my best work at night time. It all changed around 15 years ago, when I had kids. These days, it usually happens early in the morning, between 5 and 7.
@RDKLInc Both choices can be true. But to me, a hacker (hardware or software, although I prefer the term cracker for software) is a curious mind that wants to understand how things work. Nothing illegal about that. It's what you do with the acquired knowledge that can be illegal.

"The right to repair has become a big issue for consumer goods in recent years, and the federal government is in the process of amending the Copyright Act to let owners or third-party repair companies break digital locks in order to make software fixes." @BrainiacMicro
@SamsungAU MiA's 2012 #samsung TV on the table on Xmas day being resolded in two spots on the powerboard. Its relay was faulty due to solder cracks. This TV easier to fix than newer models. Leaded solder is better than unleaded for this fix, ioo. #RightToRepair@eevblog@BrainiacMicro 👍👍
A solution to Apple parts paring cannot “wait until later”. Every Apple device produced today is a device that has absolutely no hope of repair after only a few years. #righttorepair does not address this (video below)
