#lesson13 digital code is a good place to stop in the semester for the reason Vivek mentions. To reflect on the relevance and importance of media and pedagogy as we could have done more through out the semester.
#Lesson12 answering the second prompt how being globally connected and how we can change the world has me thinking of Greta Thunberg. How we all began to hear about her and the movement through news channels and social media.
#lesson10 this weeks midterm included a section on the 9 elements of digital citizenship and this had me thinking about the situation of Kanye West where he has disregarded almost all of these elements in one way or another.
#Lesson9 in the privacy matters video Shanty Dixon and Valerie Steeves mention children not being as ignorant towards privacy as elders may think. They do not neglect privacy, the understanding is different and there's a fine line for what is appropriate online in there eyes
#Lesson8 the only component i dont agree is necessary is references. i understand why it is required however i dont see how it will understanding of scholarly output.
#lesson6 social media platforms can expect success or failure depending on originality. for example a recent platform gaining popularity, BeReal. Allowing users to show friends and others what they are doing and "being real". apps must be new and inviting and new.
#Lesson5 technology gives the illusion of freedom, as we are not free to say what ever we want. Given the recent rise in cancel culture, and social media platforms banning or deleting certain accounts for not following community guide lines or making posts they do not approve of.
Digital etiquette as mentioned in the lecture needs to be taken very seriously, and people are not aware of the consequences from posting certain material. Personally i've heard stories where my parents have or rejected employees due to their social medias postings. #lesson4
#Lesson3 last semester i took FFAR 298 the topic being gaming. in this course we discussed techniques and ideologies used in creating and playing video games. we would write case studies using the learning and compared with games students have played and loved.
#Lesson3 students in todays society include social media platforms as a part of there environment, as it a place where they grew up. Including these platforms in class can add comfortability in the classrooms and promote student engagement.
in the first video lecture for lesson 2 the final slide on lurking and gossiping is what caught my attention. discussing the passive uses of social media and still effectively learning about the uses and everything the platforms have to offer. #Lesson2
#Lesson2 benefits of using platforms such as twitter and facebook in class allows for sharing of resources, and/or links. Along with quick answers as students are constantly posting at different times since this is an online class.
@Marika46612184#Lesson1 I agree Marika, social media and twitter specifically is a great way to spread information around quickly on any topic. i agree with the second point as well. this is my first twitter account so posting will be difficult to start the semester.
#Lesson1 after watching the first video with the profs debating on technology and learning i with side kozma's views. I agree that technology and media have the ability to pull its audience into a deeper learning experience with all the attributes that are provided with a post.
