Early Modern English wasn’t used in 19th century America , so why would an angel come and speak to a man in the 19th century in this chronological stage of English when English by 1823 was modern American in its stage of development.
Early Modern English, which is sometimes referred to as Elizabethan English tapered off in the 1700s and had been evolving even before then, especially in America.

The answer is an angel of God didn’t do that. Moroni, if even real, was a demon and Joseph smith was a plagiarizer who thought God spoke in Early Modern English (or thought his heretical/plagiarized ramblings would be believable if they sounded KJV’esque)

The issue is not whether Mormons are sincere. The issue is whether their Jesus is the Jesus revealed in Scripture. The biblical Jesus is the eternal Creator, not a created being. The biblical God is the one eternal God, not one among many gods. The biblical gospel is salvation by grace through faith, not exaltation through ordinances and human effort. Change God, change Christ, change the gospel, and you no longer have Christianity. That is why Mormonism must be rejected, no matter how sincere its followers may be.

Historic Christianity teaches that Jesus is the eternal, uncreated God, one in essence with the Father. Mormonism teaches a different understanding of God, a different understanding of Christ, and a different gospel.

If you change who God is, change who Christ is, and change how salvation is obtained, you have not merely created another denomination. You have created another religion.

Christianity is not defined by using Christian words. It is defined by the truth revealed in Scripture. The Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus defined by historic biblical Christianity. Therefore Mormonism cannot be considered part of historic Christianity.
