Every cycle is a Flight 93 election for both sides now. Every election is an existential threat if the other side wins and so anything is justified and all can be rationalized. It’s not sustainable.
Look, both political parties are clearly nominating poor candidates, and instead of arguing over who's worse and acquiescing to a fight to the bottom, we need to consider why our meritocracy is so broken. There are nearly 350 million Americans, and plenty of upstanding and incredible people who are above and beyond better than people like Ken Paxton and Graham Platner, just to name the most obvious instances of civic failure. So the question shouldn't be "who is worse," it should be why people like this are currently rising to the top of consideration and what we need to do to get better people running for office and winning primaries.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the fall of Paris Comune on 28 May 1871. This is how anarchists in 1937 connected its memory to the Spanish revolution in this booklet written by CNT leader Federica Montseny. Full document here

The demand that I HAVE to choose a Senate candidate to support in a completely different state from where I live is not only silly, it's typical woke right and woke left behavior. The "you will be made to care" woke attitude is caustic to civic health.
BREAKING
A federal judge has ordered the Kennedy Center to remove President Trump's name from the facade, website, letterhead, and official materials.
Congress named the Center by statute in 1964 - and the judge ruled only Congress can change it.
Joan Baez said she wishes modern-day pop stars would use their platforms to speak up about political and social issues: "Just take that little step."

Reasons people don't like nuance:
1. They don't like complexity
2. They see it being used to disguise error
3. They want to caricature their opponents
4. They equate it with cowardice
This story is nauseating. A man stabbed a teenager. Police then handcuffed the *teenager*—as he was dying—because the man claimed the kid had been racist. A horrific example of what can happen when you treat speech like actual violence.
This should be an impeachable offense with an open and shut conviction. You’d think there would come a point when the GOP would get tired of defending this garbage and just get him out of office.
Breaking News: The Justice Dept. is said to have opened an investigation into E. Jean Carroll, who had accused Donald Trump of rape. In her civil case against him, a jury had found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll. https://t.co/DW2BiHgkfM
If I only voted for candidates that agree with all my theological underpinnings I would probably never vote. What I am entirely fed up with, as a Christian, is being told I have to vote for corrupt candidate A because normal person candidate B has questionable theology.
Sgt. Nicole Gee didn’t just give her life for our country. She also gave us one of the most powerful photos of our 20 years in Afghanistan.
There is no greater humanitarian than the American warfighter.
Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas
